All movements are failed for one of two reasons…. either you are not mobile enough for the movement itself or you are not stable enough in that particular position. Whenever I say that someone always blurts out “what about strength?”  Yes of course… strength is an element of stability (this is for another discussion).  First check if you are mobile enough to practice pistol squats. Can you pass today’s screen. If so it’s time to start building strength and grooving the movement pattern. With today’s exercise you do just that. Using a horizontal bar like shown or a racked bar if you don’t have this attachment is great for building strength in beginners or warming up for pistol kings/queens. It also promotes improved torso piston… something we can all be better with during pistols.
