The patella (knee cap) is the largest sesamoid bone in your body. Sesa-whaattt?

  1. In anatomy, a sesamoid bone (/ˈsɛsəmɔɪd/) is a bone embedded within a tendon or a muscle. It is derived from the Latin word “sesamum” (sesame seed), due to the small size of most sesamoids. Oftentimes, these bones form in response to strain.

Anyway it is important that it moves freely… think of it as floating in the front of the knee. With receptive activities it can jammed up in one direction. This can lead to tracking problems and eventually knee pain.  What is a tracking problem? It’s when your knee cap moves slightly off center. It can cause overseers and pain in surround regions of the knee.   Lets keep out knee caps floating freely.
